    Single Scull Sponsorship Draw

To promote donations to the Essendon Rowing Club Boat Fund (Australian Sports Foundation registered fund no 208190) the Essendon Rowing Club is issuing 30 tickets at $250 each in a draw for the right to name/sponsor a single scull for the life of the scull at the ERC. The $250 is donated to the ASF fund. The ticket will also entitle two people to attend the ‘Pleasant Sunday Afternoon’ draw on the 4th October 2009 (1pm to 3pm) where you can feast on a seafood smorgasbord (beer, wine and soft-drinks included). Vegetarians will also be well catered for. Extra seats can be purchased at $70 each (paid to the ERC). At this event a reverse draw will take place to determine the name of the boat. The winner of the draw will be entitled to the following:

    • The right to brand the scull (see branding guidelines) with their company logo or an individual’s message etc.
    • A ‘splash and giggle’ day at the ERC for up to eight staff or clients.
    • The newly branded scull can be borrowed for up to a week (subject to ERC requirements) for promotional purposes such as trade shows and showroom promotions (conditions apply).

    Benefits for the Donor

    • The donation is tax deductible in most cases.
    • It is an affordable way for you to support the ERC.
    • There is a ‘one in thirty’ chance for the donor to win the right to ‘name the scull’. It represents a potentially lucrative way for a business to promote itself over a long period of time. The Essendon Rowing Club plans to achieve a membership level of 400 this year with many more people indirectly involved with the club.
    • The ‘Pleasant Sunday Afternoon’ draw is an opportunity for business people to network.
    • The ‘splash and giggle’ day can be used to benefit your business.
    • The boat can be borrowed to promote their business (subject to ERC committee approval).

    Branding Guidelines

The boat can be branded/sign written around the ‘waist’ of the scull beneath the cockpit. Any signage must be approved by the ERC committee. The boat cannot be named after a living individual/s as this is reserved for the large boats e.g. the boat cannot be named ‘Fred Smith’ although it can be named ‘The Smith Family Express’ or ‘Fred Smith Plumbing’ etc.

    The Tickets

Each ticket will be represented by an nicely presented A4 sheet in a similar format to the ‘In Appreciation’ letters. These can be framed by the donor if they wish. It acknowledges their donation to the ASF and support of the ERC. These tickets will be numbered and a notice will be displayed in the ERC bar area and gym listing the donors and encouraging members to support them.

    How to Enter

Please complete the ASF donation form and mail or fax it to the ERC. It can also be left at the ERC bar after 5pm each day. Please mark it: attention David Byrne, Boat Draw. Your donation will be promptly acknowledged with the invitation to the draw. The receipt will be issued by the ASF.
