Essendon Rowing Club welcomes new members and offers a variety of membership options to cater for a range of sporting and social interests. Our Membership categories and subscription rates are as follows:

2011-2012 Season Changes to Membership

With Rowing Victoria’s introduction of an affiliation fee for recreational members of clubs, Non-Competitive Senior and Competitive senior have been merged into one membership to provide simple and clear membership types for all current and potential members. If you are over 18 and wish to row at the club as either a competitor or social rower, you will need to renew your membership as a ‘Active Senior’  for Season 2011-2012.

Membership Type

Senior Active - $300 a year

This is the membership that allows you to row, not only for fitness and fun, but also for competition. A Competitive Active Senior membership gives full access to allocated boats and oars, training equipment, gymnasium, coaching, and the Club's social facilities. All Senior active members are fully affiliated with Rowing Victoria, which enables you to compete for Essendon in all Rowing Victoria and Rowing Australia sanctioned regattas

Social - $45 a year

This is the perfect membership if you just want to come down to the club and have a beer or other cool drinks at the bar, or use our newly renovated lounge and function centre. This membership is ideal for getting friends and family members involved with the Club.

Junior Active (U18) - $200 a year

Active Junior membership allows young athletes to become involved in the Club and the sport. Junior membership has all of the benefits of a Competitive Active Senior membership, including coaching and a 'learn to row' course and included in the membership subscription is affiliation as a junior rower with Rowing Victoria.

To Apply for Membership please download an Application for Membership or collect one from the club. You will need to obtain the signature of an existing member of at least two years standing to nominate you and that of a committee member to second your nomination. After filling in the form, attach your cheque for the requisite amount or use the EFTPOS facility in person at the club's bar. Alternatively, payment may be made by phone during bar hours on 9370 1973 and quote your credit/debit card details.

The bar is open weekdays from 5.30pm to 8.30pm and Sunday afternoons from mid-day onwards.
